Hike... Red Bird Hollow.

Blink, and you will miss this trail. And what a shame that would be. Red Bird Hollow is only a 25 minute drive from downtown, just outside of the little burg of Terrace Park. This 55 acre plot, (I have read that the acreage is closer to 100 though,) follows the path of an old, no longer existing, narrow gauge rail line to connect Terrace Park to the community of Indian Hill. An out and back trail, it is a great place for a quick, close to home hike, or an after work trail run, totaling around 3 miles. Also great for dogs, due to the openness and creek areas to explore. Every time that I am there I see at least 2 or 3 different dogs getting some exercise with their owners. To read more of the history, click here.

To get to the trail head:
From US HWY 50, turn onto Given Rd. (This is the one stoplight in Terrace Park.) Once onto Given, follow it for a short distance, around 1/4 to 1/2 mile, and the trail head with parking will be on your left, with an overflow area just a short distance further. If you drive around the sharp curve, and continue driving up the hill, you have gone too far.

Get Outside Cincinnati!
